Forget the size of the show and the venue
NOTE THE JUDGE; DAVID BARBOZA, the newly elected Chief of AOBA. To say all of the exhibitors both new and seasoned were impressed with his ability to scrutinize, analyze and fairly assess the total alpaca is an understatement.
Rarely have I witnessed such an unbiased, scientific approach applied over and over...no matter the amount of time until he was satisfied with his conclusion.
Exhibitors exchanged animals, handlers and numbers to "test" his judging. There was no discrepancy. It was our sincere pleasure to be judged by him.
After the show I commented to him "Julio Sumar would be proud to watch your judging technique and capabilities." David Barboza turned and smiled, "He was the one who trained me." I should have known.
